Motty on the Moon 2026: Evening Run on Mottarone

On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, Mottarone will host a new edition of Motty on the Moon, an event dedicated to those who enjoy experiencing the mountains in a unique way, combining outdoor activities with moments of fun and togetherness.

The event features a non-competitive run and a scenic walk, both set against the breathtaking landscapes of Mottarone. After the event, participants can continue the evening with music, great food, and plenty of opportunities to socialize.

Two routes suitable for everyone

Motty on the Moon is designed to welcome both running enthusiasts and those who prefer a leisurely mountain walk.

Participants can choose between:

• a 7 km non-competitive run, with approximately 320 metres of elevation gain;
• a 4.5 km scenic walk, with approximately 180 metres of elevation gain.

Both routes offer the chance to experience the beauty of Mottarone in the evening, as the sunset gives way to twilight and spectacular views over Lake Maggiore and the surrounding mountains.

Those planning to complete the route at a more relaxed pace are advised to bring a headlamp, allowing them to safely cover the final sections after sunset.

Event programme

Participants are invited to gather from 6:00 pm at Mottarone Summit.

The evening schedule includes:

• 6:00 pm – Registration and check-in;
• 8:00 pm – Start of the run and scenic walk.

The participation fee is €5, payable before the start.

The celebration continues after the race

Once the run and walk have finished, the evening continues with a programme dedicated to food and socialising.

Participants can choose between:

• Pasta Party at Bar Alp;
• Raclette Party at Casa della Neve.

A DJ Set will also keep the atmosphere lively, providing the perfect soundtrack to end the day with music and entertainment.
